Latex polymers with precisely designed dynamic mechanical behavior are the key for waterborne damping coatings, which are widely desired in noise and vibration reduction with additional environmental benefits. In this work, we synthesized series of polymer latexes with various crosslinking agents (CA) and network distributions through the control on emulsion polymerization processes. We have revealed that the variation on crosslinking can significantly direct the latex behavior under dynamic conditions as well as its films. The variables involve the CA composition, the functionality, the crosslinking manner, the hydrophilic-hydrophobic feature as well as the feeding method. Although all the latex films showed the damping peaks locating in the range from −10 to 70°C, their damping behaviors were quite different. Suggested by the empirical parameters of LA and TA, the product from sequential monomer feeding method tended to give good extensional damping performance. Especially when the crosslinking of diacetone acrylamide (DAAM)/adipic dihydrazide was applied, there was a linear increase on LA with the increasing dosage of DAAM from 0 to 10 mmol in the final monomer addition batch. Meanwhile, good constrained layer damping is expected on the products from the power monomer feeding method with the maximum CA dosage shown below 7.5 mmol. The best TA was achieved when the CA of divinylbenzene was used in the dosage of 5 mmol. Coating has been used as a practical method to ensure the physiochemical properties and reduce the chemical hazard of fried foods. Methyl cellulose (MC) was used as a coating material to pretreat Chinese fried dough cake (CFDC) before frying. The results showed that the water content, hardness and L* value of the 1% MC coated sample were 31.67%, 848.54 g and 51.62, respectively, at the seventh day at 25 °C. Coating contents 1% MC could reduce the oil content, hardness, and extent of browning and improve the physiochemical properties of CFDC on 7 days of storage. Coating contents 1% MC also reduced the acid value, peroxide value, p-anisidine value, malondialdehyde content, 4-hydroxy-2-(E)-hexenal content, 4-hydroxy-2-(E)-nonenal content, acrylamide content and glycidyl ester content in CFDC on 7 days of storage. AbstractComfort has been one of the most important features of clothing, particularly for sportswear, which requires an effective transport of heat and moisture from the inner to the outer side of clothing. We herein report the use of a simple technique of spray coating and commercially available water repellents for a one-sided hydrophobic and self-initiated one-way water transport cotton fabric. The highlight of this work is the simplicity of the process and choice of chemicals that can be adopted easily by any textile finishing industry. On this fabric, water was able to diffuse and penetrate the fabric structure in one direction from the hydrophobic to the hydrophilic side but was unable to go the opposite direction. The directional transport improved with smaller droplets and lower add-on achievable by higher air pressure and longer distance of spray coating. From moisture management tests, the best result was obtained with the spray coating of Phobol NB-NH at an air pressure of 3.0?kgf/cm2 and a distance of 120?cm. Phobol NB-NH gave better result of transport and overall comfort properties than Phobotex RSY. 相似文献

The objective of this research was to investigate and compare the effect of different treatments including gaseous ozone (6-ppm/4-min), ultrasound (450 W/4 min) and coating of shellac, lysozyme–chitosan (L-C) on fresh eggs internal quality during storage for six weeks at ambient temperature. The internal quality attributes such as weight loss (WL), albumen viscosity, Haugh unit (HU), yolk index, total soluble solids, albumen and yolk's pH were monitored. Control groups had the worst HU (50.04), WL (8.35%), albumen pH (9.27) and viscosity (7.72 mPa·s) values after storage. The best interior qualities were obtained by shellac coating [HU (72.37), WL (1.37) and viscosity (30.10 mPa·s)] and sonication (albumen pH: 8.22). Thus, the shellac-coated eggs maintained all the internal quality parameters at the highest values, while the ozone and ultrasound only helped to keep the internal quality and enhance the shelf life of eggs. 相似文献

Lanthanum zirconate is a promising thermal barrier coating material owing to its excellent thermophysical properties and La plays the key role in its corrosion resistance. Here, an amorphous precursor is used as raw feedstock material so as to synthesize lanthanum zirconate coatings with tailorable composition by atmospheric plasma spray (APS). Three lanthanum zirconate coatings of La1.7Zr2.3O7.15, La2.0Zr2.0O7.0 and La2.3Zr1.7O6.85 are fabricated. Furthermore, the corrosion resistance of the as-sprayed coatings against CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 at 1250℃ is investigated. The increased La content promotes the formation of a sealing layer of the crystalline Ca2La8(SiO4)6O2 apatite, which slows down the penetration of molten CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2. Therefore, the infiltration rate of the La2.3Zr1.7O6.85 coating decreased up to 42.6 % compared with the other two coatings. This work develops a feasible preparation strategy to control the La composition for the improved corrosion resistance, which is expected to guide the future coating design and synthesis for the materials with big composition changes during the APS process. 相似文献

Substrate surface modification is a key pretreatment during fabrication of composite palladium membranes for hydrogen purification in hydrogen energy applications. The suspension of a natural porous material, Nontronite-15A mineral, without any organic additives was employed in dip-coating of the porous Al2O3 substrate. The Nontronite-15A mineral was characterized by SEM, XRD, TG−DSC and granulometry analysis. The surface and cross-section of the coated porous Al2O3 tubes were observed by SEM, and their pore size distribution and nitrogen flux were also measured. Palladium membranes were fabricated over the coated Al2O3 tubes by a suction-assisted electroless plating. The optimal loading amount of the Nontronite-15A mineral is just to fill in and level up the surface cavities of the Al2O3 substrate rather than to form an extra continuous layer. A thin and selective palladium membrane was successfully obtained, and its permeation performances were tested. The kinetic analyses on the hydrogen flux indicate that the hydrogen permeation behavior exhibits typical characteristics for most of the palladium membranes. During the stability test at 450 °C for 192 h, no membrane damage was detected, and the hydrogen flux increased slightly. 相似文献

Fabrication and performance of the castor oil (CO)-based hyperbranched acrylate (C20AA) UV-curable coatings are highlighted in this work. Herein, C20AA was obtained through a facile reaction of a castor oil-based hyperbranched polyol (C20) with acrylic acid. FT-IR and 1H NMR spectra confirmed the synthesis of the target C20AA. Subsequently, the as-prepared C20AA was employed for crosslinking a commercialized linear polyurethane acrylate (PUA) UV-curable oligomer. Specifically, by varying the content of C20AA over the range of 0, 20, 40, and 60 wt%, a series of UV-curable coatings were prepared and coded as C20AA-0, C20AA-20, C20AA-40, and C20AA-60, respectively, which were further cured under UV irradiation. The effect of C20AA loadings on the UV-curing efficiency and final polymer performance were investigated. Consequently, the tensile strength, Shore D hardness, pencil hardness, gel content, water resistance, and glass-transition temperature of the UV-cured coatings were greatly improved upon the addition of C20AA. Impressively, with the incorporation of 40 wt% C20AA, the resultant UV-cured coating exhibited highest double bond conversion, superior chemical resistance, and good flexibility. A novel intumescent (carbonization, acid donor and foaming) fire retardant that mimics carbon nanotubes was introduced into bitumen roofing and characterized using cone calorimetry as the main analytical tool. The experimental results indicate that 18% (by mass) attapulgite mineral (ATTP) mixed with base bitumen decreased the peak heat release rate per unit area (pHRRPUA) by 10%. Further, incorporation of melamine coated ammonium polyphosphate (MAPP) decreased the pHRRPUA by 52% and a mixture of these (3:1, ATTP:MAPP) decreased the pHRRPUA by 25% as compared to adding CaCO3 as a filler. The residual mass loss after the cone test was also improved with up to 3%. The indication of a positive synergistic flame retardant effect of the ATTP-MAPP mixture is supported by thermogravimetric analysis. The addition of this rod-like mineral improved the general fire retardant properties of the base bitumen and increased the viscosity. Therefore, the polymer-modified bitumen with both fire retardant and rheological properties (providing mechanical strength) is a promising novel approach in the design of bitumen roofing membranes. 相似文献

The bond strength between thermally sprayed metal bond-coats and ceramic top-coats is a key factor in determining their service life. However, most studies focus on interface modifications. In this research, based on FeCrAl bond-coats prepared by arc spraying, top-coats (Al2O3-40 wt% TiO2) were prepared by plasma spraying, and heat treatment was carried out in a hypoxic atmosphere. Continuous gradient elastic modulus FeCrAl-ceramic coatings were successfully prepared, and the microstructural and mechanical properties from the substrate to the top-coats were systematically investigated. The Al2O3 content gradually decreased from the top-coats to the substrate, forming continuous gradient elastic modulus FeCrAl-ceramic coatings. The oxide formed during the heat treatment filled the defects in the bond-coats and greatly improved the mechanical properties of the coating. The bonding strength of the continuous gradient elastic modulus coating was 21.7% greater than that of the as-received coating. 相似文献
